Jodha Akbar

To me this movie is a struggle between Screwwalla (The Producer) and Gowarikar (The Director) Such magnificience could come only from the former, less from the latter. It looks to be more about elephants and horses than about Jodha and Akbar.

I found it funny that credit should be given to the great AB and Shotgun Sinha., Truly a tribute to our culture, (Rajpooti or otherwise or silly) where elders are held in such esteem. Did Aishwarya charge a rupee less? Did Shatru's wife work for free ? But then, this was a fun movie.

I will place this low down in Ashutosh Gowarikar movies. To me Swades represents his zenith, Lagan his sense of history, even Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa was much better; Is this the Nadir ? (BTW, will any1 tell me whether Nadir is a high point or a low one?)

It did educate me quite a lot. I never knew that there were so many of these Rajpooti Kingdoms. Couldnt they have better political cohesion and unification ? And why does everyone of them, even till today, protest so heavily at the mere mention of Jodha being from one of their clans ?

One last question ? Why o why were there no NV Rajpoots, and why does their food look so remarkably stereotyped even till today ? Mujhko laga ki the food has come straight out of a Choki Dhani,...
